These can be great fun and/or very harrowing! Thirty-three years in one house would make you a prime candidate to rake in a pile of money by conducting a yard sale.
Or maybe, in your case, you ought to contact an antique dealer. Bwaaaaaaaa!
The kids look like they are in 7th heaven. I have been trying to downsize but after 37 years in our casa, I feel overwhelmed. Incidentally, you're up early today; normally you post comment in the evening but you are my first visitor today!
The kids are having fun for sure, but from what I've seen at yard sales -- not one of my usual activities -- the adults have just as much fun!! Hey, Lowell is right! How about an antique dealer!!
Great shot of the kids trying out the merchandise.
Putting on a yard sale is an excellent way to teach yourself how much work it is to own, move, maintain, and get rid of all our stuff. We keep resolving to pare down but I notice there's usually more incoming than outgoing...you'd think we would have learned something from our last move three years ago.
In May, one of the neighbourhoods close to mine holds a massive garage sale, any house in the area planning on doing so are encouraged to do it on that day. The streets get clogged with pedestrians, and a walk through there takes twice as long.
Yard sales are not a feature here in general. But we do have car-boot sales, when people flock to a field or a car-park somewhere. You can hire a pitch for your table and it's like a market. Great fun, though I don't know how much stuff people actually manage to sell. Kids toys are usually a good buy at such sales.
ooooh, i will miss yardsales. something not common (probably also not allowed) here in the netherlands... i really liked them and we got quite some nice stuff...
These kids have hit the jackpot at this yard sale.

Ya, we've been here in this farmhouse since '77. Maybe August, unless something exciting comes forth. Please!

ReplyDeleteThere are quite a lot of kids toys available in this yard sale. I hope the kids who owned them are okay with that.
