Union Station
Amtrak trains come through downtown Hartford a dozen times each day. The train station is a brownstone Richardsonian Romanesque structure from 1889. At the near end, Hot Tomatoes operates a bar and restaurant.
It looks clean and welcoming. The news out here is that Amtrak is slowing down East Coast trains today because the tracks are getting so hot. Sounds like summer hasn't been treating you very nicely.
I think almost every city has a union station.
ReplyDeleteNice photo - and from a very different angle than I picture when I think of the train station.
ReplyDeleteIs Union Station the most popular name for RR stations? They are all over.... the North anyway.

ReplyDeleteI do like that older section of the complex!

ReplyDeleteWhere did the term Union Station originate? We have one, as does Chicago and Kansas City. Inquiring minds want to know.
