Always nice to see communities continuing the tradition of Memorial Day parades and honoring veterans. You captured the sights of the event well. I wonder which war that first gentleman served in...?
Super series of shots Jack, such an important day, for many reasons..to honour the remaining vets, remember the lost and hopefully to learn from past mistakes.
It's hardly ever sunny for ours in November! What did you do to get them all to smile and wave at you? I'll bet you were standing next to a pretty girl.
Our equivalent here is Remembrance Day. So it being November, a nice sunny day is out of the question. These are good shots of the vets. I imagine that first one goes back to the Second World War.
I guess our equivalent is Remembrance Day; 11 November and the WW1 Armistice.

ReplyDeleteyes, the weather was truly miserable over the weekend but yesterday...spectacular.

ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a good parade!
ReplyDeleteNice parade. Looks (almost) like some of the same faces from yesterday's parade, I mean Commencement.
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to see a parade like this!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the weather cooperated!
ReplyDeleteWe never have parades. We have demonstrations.

ReplyDeleteWe have our remembrance day in November so it is usually not warm like this! Good shots, Jack!
ReplyDeleteVery nice parade and captures - and how good Memorial Day was observed there. We don't have parades for the long weekend, alas.
ReplyDeleteLove the gentleman at the top and the flags especially. We have a large Veteran's Day Parade but nothing for Memorial Day.

ReplyDeleteGreat captures here.
ReplyDeleteNice series, Jack. You take great photos of your chosen subjects. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your parade series. Looks like a fine celebration.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my antelope shots. They are beautiful animals. Not as easily spooked as deer.
After accompanying WWII vets on an Honor Flight several weeks ago, I will always look at Memorial Day through different eyes. Love your photos, Jack.
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
Wonderful captures as always. :D
