A Toast

Back in July 2010 I wondered whether I would be able to keep this blog going for a month.  Well, today is the 1,000th post.  With posts every day, thanks to the wonders of autoposting when I am traveling.  Like today.

People actually look at the pictures and read what I write.  They frequently leave me comments.  What a hoot!  Thank you!

Other bloggers who have reached new plateaus often reflect on what changes they will make going forward.  No new resolutions for me.  I wouldn't keep them.  I plan to keep going, pretty much as I have.

I depart today and will be back the second week of April.  Until then, I have posts scheduled.  See you!

    Now I know why your profile photo only shows your face from the nose up. You remind me of Earl Hindman of "Home Improvements" TV show. He never showed his full either. On the show his face was usually hiding behind a fence.

    Congratulations, dad! At long last you have an occasion to pull out the tux! (I wonder if you could have experimented with the champagne glass in the foreground and a very close focus on it - so your face is blurry?)

    I remember when you started - rather tentatively. But then you hit your stride and took off and never looked back. And now you're off on another tour of Europe. Hope you enjoy. I tried to make a toast to you, but couldn't find a monkey suit, and when I said up, some guy said "Don't do it, or your toast." So I sat down. But my intentions were good.

    Congratulations to you! I was mightily impressed by the bow tie and tux. Really, Jack. You don't have to get dressed up to impress us. May you have many thousands more posts, from wherever you go.

    By the way: Did you notice your chin is missing? Does that make it easier to shave? Is this what they mean about taking it on the chin?
