Capewell Manufacturing
Capewell Manufacturing was an important Hartford factory a century ago. It made nails for horseshoes. The Hartford factory sure looks like it has been abandoned. I have read that the company still makes horsenails in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
Today I feel kind of sad looking at such buildings... In the area where we live it is becoming rather common to see centenary steel works being idled due to economic conditions and, you know, all the stories that are behind them with workers' families and so on... God bless you! Cezar
It's always sad for me to see old buildings like this being left to rot and fall apart, but it seems to be happening more and more everywhere these days. Hope you've had a great weekend, Jack!
With the horse racing in this country I can see why the company is still in business. The building looks pretty forlorn.

ReplyDeleteHmmm...I would think that Ocala is a big market for these folks. But I don't know horsenails from other forms of horsey things.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the now-famous industrial ruins of Detroit. I've only been there once but they are staggering.
