When I saw the first pic, Jack, I thought that was your humble abode and you were preparing for a Christmas party. I bet the kids had some old school fun decorating the gingerbread houses.
We used to do gingerbread houses for my two sons. One year the dog ate one, then drank her water bowl dry, as the roof was decorated with red hots. The next day thee dog reached the other boy's gingerbread house and ate the house without eating the roof.
Very festive! I love the touches of red. BTW, my nephew, T.J. Courtney, is playing an acoustic show at Up or On the Rocks in Hartford tonight. he is opening for a British Band called Young Guns. The show is free, sponsored by WCCC.
I especially like the houses waiting to be decorated by children! This speaks of Christmas spirit to me, Joy through experiences.
