This is a view of the entry hall to the Wadsworth Atheneum, showing a mural by Sol Lewitt. The mural and entry renovations were funded by Helen and Harry Gray. Mr. Gray was the CEO of Hartford-based United Technologies for many years.

That is very striking. Love that mural, too. For some reason this reminds me just a tad of the d'Orsay in Paris.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful entry with a wild and swirly decorated wall.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a Paris-Hartford-Seattle flight with layover at the museum...
ReplyDeleteImpressive and elegant! I really like this series...
ReplyDeleteThose walls certainly liven the place up!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and elegant, a place that's worth to be visited.
ReplyDeleteIt's very pleasant to visit this beautiful place with you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful entrance befitting a fine gallery. I wouldn't have expected that modern mural but I like it very much. It ads color and drama.
ReplyDeleteI do love your composition of this shot, Jack!! Wonderful, colorful mural!! Hope you're enjoying a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI remember that you have shown us some of Lewitt's work before - this one looks great.
ReplyDeleteNice view and color.
ReplyDeleteIt was good to catch up with your posts of the last 3 weeks. Julie and i were away in Papua New Guinea and Australia, in part to see the total solar eclipse. We had very limited and expensive internet access, so I fell behind in keeping up with my favorite photo blogs.
ReplyDeleteHands up - I was fooled. I look at the Sunday shot first and thought you were photographing the ceiling. It is a wall. Fabulous to see this photograph next showing the whole picture.
