Hartford Seminary

The Hartford Seminary has been shown before in the summer and in the winter, but not yet in the fall. The stark white modern building is nestled in the West End of Hartford among homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s.

  2. This architectural style is certainly a contrast to its surroundings.

  3. Such lovely surroundings for an almost windowless building!

  4. That is a most unusual building especially for a seminary. It makes me think it might have been built in the Art Deco era.

  5. Hmmm. Somehow it's not what I think of when I think of Hartford. :)

  6. I agree with EG, just not what I think of when I think of Hartford! That stark white does stand out though!! And great shots as always, Jack! Have a good week!

  7. I am not sure if it looks more like a small prison or some kind of minor nuclear facility...

  8. I would like more windows but it looks as if there may be interior courtyards!

  9. What kind of seminary is it? I also wonder what the interior looks like; certainly hope that are lots of lights inside.

  10. Interesting building, Jack, but for me it doesn't look like a seminary... at least not from this perspective.

  11. It's modern but at the same time has a Bauhaus feel to it...

  13. A contrast to its surrounds Jack but I guess with the fall colours it sort of blend in.

  15. I think I actually quite like that. It's so different yet quite stylish. The alternative would have been some kind of reproduction of the old houses and that might have looked weird.
