Foresight

Don't you wish they planned ahead when they planted this big maple tree decades ago?

Hint:  before you plant a tree, look up.

  2. Wow, I have never seen anything quite like this! I am surprised the power company hasn't chopped it down already.

  6. It looks like this same problem afflicts the a row of trees.

  7. Oh my, yes this would have been a much better scene with the trees planted away from the power lines.

  8. We have so many trees here in B'ham and many have been pruned to death to make way for the lines.

  11. True, but it's good to see they haven't chopped the tree down, all that glorious autumn colour.

  12. Planning ahead, foresight, is a rare commodity. It is seldom applied by government agencies or utilities. Beautiful fall photo.

  19. Send your photo to the city forestry department!
On second thought, they'd probably cut the tree down completely.

  20. Just move the lines underground

  21. But which came first, the utility lines or the tree?

  22. But I admire the fact that they did not cut the tree :-)

  23. Wow. THat's just sad. :(
You know what else would help the problem though... underground cables!

  24. Ouch! I don't know what's worse - planting under power lines, or the "pruning" that's done to them.

  25. Wonderful autumn leaves!
Its a pity the wires had to be there to bother the maple tree!
