Stegosarus



Most of the construction around the Wadsworth Atheneum and the Hartford City Hall is completed, so Alexander Calder's Stegosaurus is once again visible without construction clutter.  Soon the Travelers Tower in the background will be encased in scaffolding.  It is the tower's turn for restoration.

  3. I really like to see Calder's works contrasting to old buildings. We had one here next to Jeronimus Monastery, maybe you saw it as I posted it some time ago.

  5. I like the Stegosaurus sculpture very much. It's impresses the beauty and strength of the animal with the scary teeth!

  9. That sculpture calls out for imaginative interpretation. I'm thinking color negative of the crown of the Statue of Liberty.
