Jumping Rope
This scene brought back memories. I remember when my daughter was learning how to jump rope. She jumped and jumped and jumped, and could barely walk the next day. I hope this vision in pink didn't exhaust herself.
You have a thing with pink in your mind those days: lovely pink peonies yesterday, and today this sweet girl.My jump rope days are very far away now, but I think I still have a small me jumping in my heart somewhere.. :o)These were sweet days!
What a wonderful "jumping" capture, Jack! And, yes, there's nothing equal to the exuberance of youth! It does bring back memories! Hope you have a great and Happy Memorial Day!
I'm glad you remembered my Saint Gaudens posts last year and stopped by the park. There is a lot of great sculpture and art there. You'll have to visit again when it's open and can get inside the buildings.
I know that I could not jump like she does but I still remember many of the rhymes we chanted while jumping. This is a great action shot with perfect focus, right at the apex of the jump, too!
Question: the person who does Valladolid, Spain, has left some nice comments on my blog and I've tried to return the favor. However. with that black-on-black design I can't find the place to enter text no matter what I try. I see you have commented there. Where do you write it?
Jack- I just read your comment at Brattleboro and would highly recommend Billings Farm. Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield MA and The Farm Museum in Cooperstown NY are also worth the trip!
That is such a great picture. I remember when jumping rope was the thing to do in my neighborhood. Thanks so much for sharing, this definitely brought me back to my childhood.
