Was he going to join a religious procession, I wonder I suppose it was Good Friday. I have always been fascinated by the Penitentes in the Southwest, but now the practice seems to have been practiced and/or spread to many different areas.
Happy Easter or Passover to you and to your friends and loved ones!
I've never really understood the theology of this kind of thing...people walk across the country hauling a cross. I can't see what that accomplishes, except for a very sore back and worn out shoes! :-)
The wheels made me smile - but sensible I guess. Our local churches had a march of witness on Good Friday but what with decorating and a heavy cold I gave it all a miss this year.
Amazing capture!

The wheels are great! Wonderful capture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a capture, Jack!
ReplyDeleteChrist is probably thinking, "Why didn't I or one of my disciples think of putting wheels on the cross?"
ReplyDeleteThe invention of the wheel...
ReplyDeleteTerrific and very interesting capture, Jack!! Hope your weekend is going well!

I would have told him to let it go, someone needs the wood.

For a split second I thought he had blood on the tee-shirt and thought nope, that can't be... Happy Easter to you and yours Jack!
ReplyDeleteDon't think the original had wheels or a shoulder pad. That misses the spirit somehow. Great picture, however.

ReplyDeleteI would have wanted to talk to him too! Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteCarrying his cross with the help of wheels! Happy Easter Jack.
ReplyDeleteA very symbolic capture Jack - wheels and shoulder pad aside. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteAt least it has wheels.
ReplyDeleteThis cross doesn't look too difficult to bear! Hope you had a happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a cross on wheels. This gave me a laugh! :)
ReplyDeleteNow that's a sight you would only see at Easter, and maybe even then not so often. Great capture Jack. Hope you had a wonderful Easter also.
ReplyDeleteThe wheels totally make this picture for me. Terrific find. Quick reaction on your part to grab your camera and shoot.
ReplyDeleteWonderful capture... was he preaching the gospel?
ReplyDeleteSome people are just weird.
