Chancel
The pews and kneelers in the nave of the Trinity College Chapel do not have all of the carvings. These are some of the carvings in the chancel. The animals in the circles form a "bestiary."
I must learn not to jump to conclusions. So happy that you are continuing this series; it's too beautiful to ignore. I wonder hpw many carvers/artisans worked on these carvings?
The carvings you've shown us are incredible and so many and you can keep them coming! I could never tire of sights like these! Thank you, Jack! Have a beautiful day!
I am not ready to be done with this place, I hope there is much more. I remember when you first started this series, you said we were in for a treat, how true.
These wonderfully intricate wood carvings remind me of some of the most talented ateliers of fashion houses and their hand-stitching, embroidery, lace-making phenomena
I know what you mean. There's so many details to photograph in a place like this that you could go on for a few weeks more.
