The benches at the New Britain Museum of Art are fascinating. There are a couple dozen artist-designed benches at the museum. This one is called Grizzly Bear Bench. It was designed by Judy Kensley McKie (2002). I showed another creative bench from the museum last year.
If anyone is shopping for Christmas or birthday presents for me, I like bears . . .
I agree, this bench is fascinating!
ReplyDeleteThe child seems to be petting (or resting on) the bear while checking out the iPhone. The thought of you and bears reminds me of a place in Red Lodge, Montana that you might like. We skied there often when our kids were in school, and would often drive to and eat at a restaurant called "The Grizzly Bar"... nice play on words and a fun bar in which to watch "the locals."
ReplyDeleteVery cute benches. This one looks like it would appeal to young people.
ReplyDeleteBears, huh? My sister Pam in Missouri loves bears too and I've purchased many of them for her.
Great benches, you will soon see them on aBoB...
ReplyDeleteHaha! I guessed that you were the 'teddy bear' kind of guy Jack!! Oh grrrr you mean a manly grisly bear! I hope that you're going to show us more of the benches Jack.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love it when the art becomes accessible. It's nice to look at the paintings and all, but it's also nice when art can be used. :)
ReplyDeleteHow about teddy bears?
ReplyDeleteI love this bench Jack!
ReplyDeleteHow unusual! I like bears too :)
ReplyDeleteChristmas is over, silly! And who knows your birthdate? I mean, I know you're really old, but I don't know how old! I guess I could find you an old bear somewhere. But wait, I think you are sometimes called an old bear. Right?
ReplyDeleteNo? Well, I'm wrong again.
I like the bench, so long as it doesn't bite.
I love it! It's different and I love bears!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Who's calling who "old"? :-)
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I don't know what's going on. We were out wandering last week...late afternoon. Drove into a parking lot and there they were in all their fiery glory. I have a feeling the colors had something to do with a two-night freeze we had a few days earlier.
That would make a great garden bench.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great looking bench.
ReplyDeleteA very cute bench, Jack. We would love here such bear benches much more than real bears...
ReplyDeleteThat's an original bench!
ReplyDeleteI collect figurines of little frogs so if everyone is shopping for Christmas or birthday presents...;o)
Thanks for sharing your wonderful shots, Jack;o)

Hope you are having a very nice week****
Haha still on about the carved wooden bears, eh? Wessel's latest plan is to get you a log and a chainsaw... maybe woodcarving can be your next hobby? :)
