East Wing of the Capitol

Here, I went upstairs and widened the view, to show fewer details but more of big picture.

  2. I really like the colors in here. They are brighter than I would have expected and much warmer. I see more beautiful details.

  6. Nice shot, very surprising rich colors, I would have expected grays and blues.

  7. It is a little gem, isn't it? It may just be an illusion but it appears to be smaller than I had expected.

  8. This is a lot more colorful than I would imagine for the inside of a Capitol, where one would expect to see plain marble columns.

  9. I agree with the others, Jack, the colors are really beautiful and not what I would expect in a government building -- but maybe I just have a gray "attitude" towards government in general these days! Terrific capture as always and I do like being able to see a more in your widened view! Enjoy your day!

  11. Nice architecture. I'm a bit surprised, though, by the colors -- quite bright. Love the wide open balcony.

  13. Fantastic, Jack! I have never seen photos from the interiors before, so I had no idea what I was missing.

  14. There's something about open galleries that is always appealing. This is a beautiful setting.

  15. Very regal. I meant to tell you that since we have a new superintendent, we ended up taking a fan bus, the band, and cheerleaders to two days of state competition for our girl's basketball team. That was not always the case, but it has been a nice change.

  17. So richly decorated. Not really my taste but then I don't live (or work) in a place like this!
