No more. It is abandoned. And an eyesore.
I will be away for ten days, with little free time. But, I have scheduled some pretty good photos while I am away, so please visit. When I get back, I will catch up with your shots!
Meanwhile, I have exciting news. My daughter Susie has begun a daily photo blog called Joburg Every Day, chronicling her discovery of her new city, Johannesburg, South Africa. Susie is a much better photographer than I am. Go take a look and, if you like what you see, become a follower. I had the honor of being Follower #1.

Sad about the police station, but what good news about your daughter's blog and I 'm going there now! Hope all is well with you, look forward to your return. Take care, Jack!

The birds seem to be drawn to the old police station Jack, wonder why they don't pull it down and reuse site! Will definitely check out Susie's blog, I grew up in Africa (Rhodesia and Zambia) so am always interested to see how things are there now. Have a great trip Jack, catch up when you get back.
Enjoy your time away, Jack!
Was it really a police station?! how strange is this architecture for such a place!Maybe people COULD NOT believe this place was made for police..
Congrats to your daughter with her new blog! South Africa is so far from your home..But they have one of the greatest teams of RUGBY! How lucky!! :o)
Enjoy your free time!
I saw this on channel 3 news a few days ago but you did a much better job of capturing the feel of it. Have a good time away and I look forward to your return!
safe travels.
Have a great time! I'm impressed with your editor's diligence preparing 10 photos in advance. Bravo! I'll look forward to checking out Susie's blog.
It looks like it was a great design with the tile and the circle. Enjoy your time away. I remember Susie's photos from last year.
What an odd structure. I'm not sure exactly what a community police station is, but I guess budget cuts have let it go by the wayside.
Really a sad image Jack. Have a great trip.
This doesn't look as a police station...
Happy holidays!
I hate seeing such interesting architecture left to the elements. Safe travels!
I can't even picture this as a police station. Hopefully it will turn into something better than it is soon.
I'll go visit your daughter in South Africa (what an exciting place to live!).
It does not look like a police station, based on the architecture or the graffiti.
I have just signed up as a follower of your daughter's site.
What a shame. Community police stations are, I think, a good idea. Wonder why it was abandoned.
Hope you have fun wherever thou goest!
And I shall check out Susie's blog!
Shame, but it still looks better than most of police stations here:)
Have a great time whenever you go!
I'll visit your daughter's blog for sure:)
Looks like it was a great building once upon a time...
Looks more like an abandoned amusement park than an abandoned police station. The birds seem inclined to it. you daughter really does take good photos!
Cool! The birds add so much to the shot.
Looks like such a happy place! Abandoned, ha?
So cool about Susie's blog. My son does not take after me in photography or bloging interest (although he gets some great photos).
It sure doesn't look like Hartford!
I would have never thought this was Hartford.
This is an interesting shot for sure! I am going now to check out your daughters blog!
Special picture with the birds.
Greetings,
Filip
Interesting place. I will have to check out her blog! Enjoy your time away.
That is a good shot, perhaps empty, but I wouldn't think an eyesore ;)
You have a really nice (and active) blog!
Drew
