Blockwatch Protected

It is important for people to watch out for crime so that their neighbors are safe and their property is protected.

  1. Someone forgot to watch this place ... or they watched it deteriorate ... probably was a lovely building at one time. Sad.

  2. In fact, not so nice, it's a pity!

  4. I am heading to Wilbraham/Springfield this morning to help my sister with her storm-damaged house. This photo makes me wonder what may happen to areas in that city that were damaged by the tornado. Lots old mills have been turned into art studio space in Western Mass. The house in your photo could be so pretty if it were restored.

  5. Wow - if that isn't "urban decay" then what is?!

  7. I like this. It kind of portrays the state in which our society lies- doesn't it?
    An irony of sorts....

  8. A beautiful old house waiting to be gentrified!

  9. Hopefully someone will have dreams of restoring this old house and keep a watch out for the neighbors.

  10. The sign looks new. Perhaps the Blockwatch should have started sooner. Btw, I don't think anyone wants me biking to work in this heat and humidity.

  11. It's so sad to see a once beautiful home decay. We have one of those a few blocks down-- gorgeous leaded glass windows and cupolas, slowly disintegrating.

  12. I do so hate to see lovely, old houses like this disintegrating! Afraid it will take more than a neighborhood watch to save this one, but hopefully it will do the job for the people in the area. Great post as always, Jack.

  16. If only they renovated the place a little it could be a paradise - safe and pretty:)

  17. The decayed house together with the sign make a fantastic combination. It's a great composition and I love it.

  20. I agree. We had some break-ins here in my neighborhood and the neighbors went right to work. Now this place looks like a haven for undesirables! Right?

  21. At first I thought you were being sardonic. Then I saw the tv dish and realized that people still live in the neighborhood. Too bad they don't have the financial resources to renovate. But happily, they have the social resources to join together to watch out for one another.
