Beautiful woman with a lovely red dress. I've taught several students whose parents were in arranged marriages. Stable families and academically sound kids. Perhaps an answer to divorce rates? Cannot imagine Westerners being content with that kind of arrangement.

Re your comments: I think the striking must come from the French influence on Canada. And there are Starbucks here. I do go there sometimes, but it's not always convenient.

One wonders. I'm not sure why I was called a blockhead. It could be 'cause I am one, but you have to understand that she is feeling no pain these days and tends to get a little verbose with a plethora of nonsensical comments.
Actually, I think she thinks I'm Charlie Brown and she's Lucy! :-)
Maybe they moved here to escape the culture of arranged marriages so they could make their own decisions.
On second thought, maybe for young people in the late teens and early 20's, perhaps parents have better judgment. I better stop my stream of consciousness right now. I am about to get myself into trouble.
Oh, by the way, I hear arranged marriages are more popular in North America than they are in Asia. India in particular is much more modern...except in the countryside.
If I said my initial observation when looking at the picture, I'd bring the level down a little;-) So I'll say yes, pretty woman. Maybe he's taking her shot for her match.com ad.
