Caged ladies reminds me of the Bird Cage Theater in Tombstone Arizona. Except the "bird cages, " popularized in a song of the era, were not for wholesome mothers with small children shown in your photo. The bird cages were little booths along the balcony where women "worked."
Love Birdman's comment, definitely got my day off to a good start! Genie said it best - quacks, free bird and caged ladies!! Doesn't get any better than this, Jack! Don't you love your commenters? I know I love mine!! Have a great day with lots of sun!
These two photos and the seven comments represent the joy of having a City Daily Photo blog, perfectly illustrating the impact of photos on people who didn't even take them! Thanks, Jack!
And thanks for stopping by to see my cocktail and salad. The sunlight coming through the blinds was perfect for that photo of the salad.
You commenters are all so amusing today! Caged ladies? Not at all. The playground is fenced, probably at the insurance company's insistence, to keep toddlers from wandering off and to make it harder for geese and other animals to get in. I was shooting low and tight, so it kind of looks like a cage.
Another 'quack' out for a Sunday stroll.
ReplyDeleteyou've caught such great energy in that second shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm stuck laughing at Birdman's comment!
ReplyDeleteI really like the free bird and the caged ladies...
ReplyDeleteQuacks, free bird, caged ladies... everyone is a comic today! Great colors and a perfect day without rain for you!

Is the fence there to keep the children from the goose? Just asking.
ReplyDeleteI like very much the photo of family fun behind the fence, Jack.
All of the above Jack, hahahahha! great pictures that made us all happy.
ReplyDeleteLots of activity by man and beast....uh...bird!
ReplyDeleteGeese, moms with kids and pregnant moms. That is some park. I'm surprised they let you in!
ReplyDeleteYou've never heard of Pearl River...it's to the same tune as Moon River...I think it goes like this:
Pearl River, floating down the keys
Bouncing on the blacks and whites
You'll love it, So go play it
'Specially on dark, moonlit nights...
I can't remember the rest...
This goose must be really pleased seeing all these people in cage:)
ReplyDeleteThe sun is finally out and one of my fellow Canadians has come to visit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. Are the ladies really caged?

ReplyDeletequack quack, Jack. What fun photos. Very unusual for the word verification to be a word, I would be offended with older also : )
ReplyDeleteThese comments cracked me up...or maybe I should say, "quacked" me up.
ReplyDeleteWell that's just ducky, oh wait no it's not.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thought as VP! :-) This is really interesting: who's in fact behind the fence? :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm with the mammy's team! :)
ReplyDeleteCute shots!

I usually stay a distance from those feathered friends whose social skills are not always friendly; besides, I prefer clean soles.
ReplyDeleteI like the fence photo.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the patience for baseball but I do have it for your photos.
