Museum of Natural and Other Curiosities

This handsome cat shares space with notables at the Old State House's museum, which I described earlier.

I have an inside shot today because we have had interminable, drenching, miserable rain for days.  And the forecast is for it to continue deep into the weekend.  Blah!  I'm going to Florida for a few days in the sunshine.

    Some of those cats don't look too happy! I like the one in front best!

    Yes, come to Florida and don't forget your golf clubs. It was 55 degrees here this morning, not a cloud in the sky, and the sun is brightly shining. The golf course awaits your arrival!

    I wonder why the curator decided to combine the two? Very effective to see the cat among the portraits, but certainly very different combination.

    Very strange juxtaposition of wildlife and colonial portraits.

    Enjoy your trip. Julie just sampled your rainy weather back East, returning late last night from New York. Since she grew up and lives in Arizona, she did not even think to take an umbrella. Who needs umbrellas?

    I do love the combination and what a fun capture! Better than stormy skies, huh? Hope you find some sun in Florida -- this is our second day in a row of gorgeous, clear blue skies and I'm drinking them in -- the blue won't last much longer I'm afraid!     I'd like to see this museum, even better if you can take pictures inside... We have so much sun here in Rome now, that some of my poor pictures look bleached!
