Hartford Children's Theatre
The headquarters of the Hartford Children's Theatre is on Farmington Avenue in Hartford. I think the roofline is the most interesting part of the building.
I love old houses like this! They don't build them like this anymore -- they just all look alike!! This one has personality and what a great headquarters for a childrens theater! Interesting post for the day, Jack! Hope your week is going well!
I love the architectural detail on that roofline too. The chimneys are more intricate than most which adds to the beauty of it. Same for the framing around the windows. This is an architectural gem, Jack. It's great when buildings like this find another use.
Love the house, roof and the sculpture at the front, including the very small rock in front of sculpture. Almost looks like a penquin but think it might be some form of art representing theatrical something or other.
To the person asking about the productions put on at Hartford Children's Theatre - the answer is all kinds! We do classes in the building pictured and performances in the Carriage House in the back of the property. More information about our theatre can be found at www.hartfordchildrenstheatre.org
It has wonderful old architectural design. They don't build anything like this anymore.

It certainly is a beautiful building! I like all the old details.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful house. It makes me think of the book "House of Seven Gables".

ReplyDeleteA fine old building! Glad that has been re-purposed.
ReplyDeleteOh how strange. From the first photo I wouldn't necessarily have placed this beauty in the USA but it became obvious in the second shot!
ReplyDeleteI love this picture, looks like a doll house.
ReplyDeleteSuch character and unique details in this structure. I wish homes were still built like this.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! I think it would be better as a house.

ReplyDeleteJack, you take the coolest pictures, I sincerely enjoy looking at what you come up with. I like buildings like that-ones with personality.
ReplyDeleteWhat productions do they put on?
ReplyDeleteGabled roof lines intrigue me no end.
ReplyDeleteA lovely building for a very intersting purpose...
ReplyDeleteA gabled treasure. But the rest of the building ain't bad, either. I like the porch.
ReplyDeleteHope you don't get hit with another big snowstorm this weekend. It's raining the proverbial cats 'n dogs here ... very strange and unusual.
