I showed the headquarters of the Phoenix Insurance Companies -- known locally as the boat building -- in September.
It seems almost too easy bouncing some nearby office buildings off the boat building's sensuous curved surface for Weekend Reflections. I should be ashamed. (But it IS pretty, isn't it?)
If you like to see shots of other reflections, you can find more of them at James' blog Newtown Area Photo every Friday.
You are excused!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that was the architect's original intention! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is quite pretty. Wonderful photo. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat really is a pretty shot, Jack. Sort of like Hartford's version of the John Hancock tower (Boston). I like the building. It looks a lot like something you'd see in a modern European city. You do have an unfair advantage. But we're all the beneficiaries so no complaints.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful reflection. What a nice building!
ReplyDeleteYou got some pretty cloud reflections in there too! It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with easy?
ReplyDeleteYou should be ashamed if you DIDN'T share this striking building with us!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous reflection! very impressive!
ReplyDeleteYou're definitely forgiven and billyB is right -- nothing wrong with easy! This is fantastic! What terrific reflections! And they cover the entire building!! Superb! Hope you have a great weekend, Jack!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Looks like a whole street inside the huge building!
ReplyDeleteThis picture is wonderful, congratulations! :)

ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of a lovely blue mosaic. Great reflections!

Oh don't blush, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect spot for reflections.
ReplyDeleteWonderful reflections! If that building was closer I'd take a few shots myself. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with James on this one - I'd be out there taking photos of it myself! This shot is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSimply fabulous! No wonder you couldn't resist.
ReplyDeleteFabulous, Jack, and the only reason you should be ashamed is for running away from the BIG snow in Hartford!
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
You could use it as many times you want, this is a building I like and I am sure that every time you'll get something different and even better.
ReplyDeleteOh Jack, it's fantabulous!
ReplyDeleteWhy would you be ashamed of pulling off such a stunt? You should be proud! You walk out the door, point your camera at a boat building and bingo, you've got a great reflection shot (whether you need one or not!)...
ReplyDeleteRe your comment on Cedar Key: I'm guessing that older woman was the younger woman's mother or grandmother...
Hope you're having fun. Almost warm enuf to play golfs!
This is a wonderful shot, Jack! I wish it were mine. :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the architect already had the reflections in mind. Awesome, Jack!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is - very pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the reflections!
ReplyDeleteNice design with some pretty impressive reflections.
ReplyDeleteEasy and pleasing...the best combo.
ReplyDeleteI like the wide angle, distant view - and the different heights of buildings. Most of the reflections on buildings I've seen were more close up.
Beautiful reflections!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
Sure is
ReplyDeleteSweet...well done! (Btw, I don't know either how Lee County is staying afloat with baseball. I'll for you at a Twins game!)
ReplyDeleteThe vertical buildings in the reflection really stand out!
