We can finally see it!

I could give you a long list of reasons why I hate the arrival of winter.  It is getting cold.  The trees are bare.  Did I mention it is cold?  And the ice, snow and slush aren't even here yet.

But, one of the good things is that, with most of the leaves gone, we can now actually see some of the beautiful houses that have been hidden by foliage during the summer.

This is a pretty house in Sunset Farm, a quiet, private, forested community that is right off a busy main street in West Hartford, yet little noticed by passers-by.

  1. Beautiful house. I can see how it would be almost completely hidden by that large tree.

  2. Gorgeous place! We had the same experience in Colorado recently...driving the roads in November was quite different than in the summer time or even early fall -- we saw lots of places and things we had not seen before because of the vegetation.

Of course, in some cases, we'd rather have the scenes blocked by vegetation!

    Have a great week!

  4. It's such a charming house, and it's Huge!
    Amazing shot, very well done!
Here today we have lots of snow! I agree with your words, but all white snow is so beautiful!
And it's great when we can stay inside home and see it by the window! hehehe

  6. I see what you mean about hiding in plain sight. Thanks for the metaphor and the view.

  7. These house photos are giving me a serious case of envy! Yes, I too like peeping through winter trees - and also peeping through curtains into lighted rooms at twilight.

  9. Beautiful! I miss northern houses. I spent Thanksgiving in Ft. Myers. Hope you're having a nice time there.

  10. Yes, winter photography is a different beast. Sun can be really tricky this time of year (if we SEE it... LOL).

    Love your house photos. Beautiful.

Glad you liked the "subtle" vehicle. That was a great comment!
