Sandy

Sandy is a volunteer naturalist at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.  She was greeting visitors.
The next guided tour was in 45 minutes, so I went out on my own.
(I like to go at my own pace anyways.)

On the way back, I ran into Sandy again.

I do too Jack, but the guides do an excellent job! Happy weekend ✨

She looks like such a pleasant person, Jack!

I bet she's a good leader. I'm kind of an "on my own" tourist too!

I always prefer to go my own way too, which is rather inconsistent of me as I used to work as a walks-guide myself!

Sandy must know a great deal about the swamp.

I often forego guides. And every time I happen into a guided group I am pleased at all I get from it.

Guides can tell you so much about a place, but sometimes it's good just to browse and see what you see along the way.

Quite a place for a stroll. I do tend to prefer being my own guide.
