Albie

Albie retired twelve years ago.  He now operates an antiques store -- Mashapaug Trading -- in Union, Connecticut.

Union is the least populated town in the state.  It is just east of U.S. Route 84 as the highway runs into Sturbridge, Massachusetts.  Most of the traffic in Albie's store is from locals and regular visitors, who check in once a week to see what is new.

Love your portrait series. It's something I´d like to do but for the moment I haven´t the courage.

Albie made a good choice for retirement; love antique shops for browsing and photographing.

What a lovely warm portrait! When you say they come into the antique store to "see what's new", I take it you mean "to see what's old"! Take care.

I hope I can retire to a job like Abie's some day soon. Great portrait.

Very nice portrait, though personally, when I retired it wasn't to take on another occupation. I like being retired!

Albie has a very welcoming face. He looks like the kind of guy I'd enjoy have a chat with and learning a little about some antique in his store. I dare say, there is just a twinkle of mischief in his eye.

I think he has retired to do what a lot of people can only dream about doing! Lucky man.
Great portrait, Jack!

Nice looking gentleman. Hope he's doing well. Did you buy anything?

Re your comment on Florida Fotos: I couldn't but start singing "Wherever I go, 'egos." Don't ask why.

Great portrait of a still-handsome man. You do find people with the loveliest faces, Jack - or maybe it's just the way you take them!

He just has the sweetest face.

Someone said that the three key attributes of a retail operation are location, location and location. Someone has to be the exception to the rule. Who could doubt the fairness of a price quote from such a kindly face?

He looks like a gentle soul. Love the old rotary phone in the background. I'm really not one for antiquing, but I'd be happy to chat with Albie.
