Bordeaux

France for ten days, starting in Bordeaux.

Everyone photographs the Opera National de Bordeaux.  Me too.

This Renaissance clock took my breath away.

Bordeaux sits on top of limestone, so most buildings are built from it.  This soft material makes it easy to carve, but it also makes the facades darken easily.

Place des Quinconces is beautifully shaded by plane trees.

Three friends walked toward me in front of Mairie de Bordeaux.

Our guide led us past this lovely flower shop.

Fontaine Des Trois Graces in Place de la Bourse.

I hoped to get one of the iconic photos of Place de la Bourse reflected in the mirror pool (unseen to the left), but it was morning and little kids were splashing in the pool.  No reflections, but happy kids are more important than a happy photographer.

  1. Jack, both you and your camera are having a wonderful time in Bordeaux. There must be a wine tour in your future.

  2. Enjoy France, of Frankrike as we call it.
