Photo of the Year

On January 1 of every year, participants in City Daily Photo show the choice of their photo of the year.

And every year I think my photos were OK but not worthy of being picked as the best.  Many photos of buildings, but they don't seem creative.  Many of artists or art galleries, but the artists are the creative ones.   And I rule out photos taken away from home.  Birds?  Events?  Portraits?  It is so difficult.

How about this one from a Pet Parade in January?

The bright red barn and the orange flowers get the credit, but I used this photo in July anyways.

"Not a bird" was kind of clever, but it seems too minor.  Shown in May.

I liked the symmetry of this ibis flying overhead in my direction.  Shown in April.

I give up.  Let's see other photographers' selections here.

  1. It is so hard to choose. Love that last shot though. Happy New Year, Jack!

  2. Jack, you had a great year with your camera. I'm always impressed by your bird photos, and your portraits. You have a good eye for the critical moment. BTW, my photo was a Merlin Hawk also sometimes called a Pigeon Hawk. It is smaller than a Sharp Shin Hawk. Thank you for yesterdays comments on my past weeks posts. Always good to hear from you.
