Conny the Whale has been the symbol of the Children's Museum in West Hartford for almost half a century. My kids loved to climb around inside Conny. Now my granddaughters love doing it.
But, the property has been sold and the museum must move. There are proposals to move Conny to a grassy spot across the street, but Conny is heavy and the move is expensive. Conny has a lot of support in the town, but I don't know if the support is accompanied by the money to move him. Stay tuned.
Hope this landmark has a future. Perhaps the money for the move will be found somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope that Conny can be moved, Jack.
ReplyDeleteSad to hear that the museum and Conny have been sold. Hopefully there will be a resolution.
ReplyDeleteThat is huge as a monument indeed. Everything can be sold for a price these days.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think a museum is safe from being sold.
ReplyDeleteHe's very cool, I hope he gets moved to a good place.
