Corey Pane

The talented Hartford-area muralist Corey Pane painted a terrific mural last year on a wall near Union Station, where traffic exits U.S. Route 84 and dumps onto Asylum Avenue.

In addition to several well-painted wall-sized figures of women and smaller paintings of a typewriter, a bird, a dog and a tee shirt, there are additional pieces that seem done by children.  It would be fun to spend some time reading them, though it would be done at the peril of hurtling cars.

  1. What a lovely portrait, perhaps a self portrait?

  2. A fine looking mural that would take some time to fully appreciate.

  3. Too bad about the scary location as it would be nice to really look at it closely.

  4. I like the little one within the mural that says "have a good day" with a smiley face.

  5. Looks like there were quite a few artists who created this one. Yes, it's not wise to stand in oncoming traffic just to read a mural.
