Budweiser's famous Clydesdale horses are making appearances in Southwest Florida this week. I went to see them at the Mercato, a shopping center in North Naples.
I went around to the staging area at the back of the center. The horses were led off their trailers, groomed, fitted in their harnesses, and lined up for their procession.
When the horses were lined up and waiting to begin, they twitched and neighed and looked antsy.
I decided to station myself on the less busy service road between the staging area and the street where the horses would parade. Once the procession began, the horses stopped fidgeting and were professionals.
The Dalmatian on the wagon likes the camera.
How cool they are...what a great opportunity to capture them on (film?) in photos! I've only seen them in parades, and the commercials of course! I used to live in St. Louis, and Tampa, where Busch has plants.
ReplyDeleteI adore those heavy horses - great to see them still being worked, even if only in a ceremonial way.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive.
ReplyDeleteLove that 4th shot, Jack! Such handsome creatures.
ReplyDeleteThe Budweiser Clydesdales are magnificent looking. You got some great shots of them. Interesting they were fidgety before they got to work. The Dalmatian dog photo is wonderful. The camera loves the dog also.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful horses, you wouldn't get me on one though.
ReplyDeleteI had a friend whose family used to raise them. Beautiful critters. Are the drivers twins?
