In the second half of the 20th century, Ukraine-born Louise Nevelson was a noted creator of huge, complex, environmental sculptures, usually black. She built Dawn's Forest, a massive (and white) composition for Georgia Pacific. It has found its way to the interior public areas of Artis Naples.
Fabulous! She is one of my favourites, Jack!
ReplyDeleteShe was obviously a most creative sculptor. Thank you for introducing her to me.
ReplyDeleteI love her work...saw an installation at a museum in the 80's in NY. Such creativity in wood...those were unpainted wood.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual work.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of her but I do like any type of art that's different from anything else.
