Damselfly
There are many damselflies in my yard. I always thought dragonflies and damselflies are the same thing. Wrong! Dragonfly wings are out to the side and they have thicker bodies. The wings of damselflies are aligned with their thinner bodies.
Great macro shots of this interesting insect. How fine this fly posed for you.
ReplyDeleteTerrific close ups.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Jack! They never seem to sit still for long!
ReplyDeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteThat looks very similar to (but probably not the same as) one that occurs here which goes by the delightful name of a Beautiful Demoiselle.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing I know is that damselflies are beloved by fishermen....dragon flies not so much. So I am now glad to know the difference. Thank you!
