Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in eastern Collier County is at the western edge of the Everglades.
Just a slight difference in elevation produces a completely different water profile,
which in turn produces completely different animal and plant life.

This is the transition zone between an ancient bald cypress forest on the left,
grassy marshes in the middle and a scrub pine forest on the right.

  2. I've been here before but it was a long time ago...back when I was shooting film and developing my own photos. Great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!
