On Sunday, about 900 motorcycle riders took a half hour ride from a Naples park to Harley Davidson of Ft. Myers. The event raised money for the March of Dimes, to fund care for sick newborns.
A police honor guard led the procession.
A metallic blue Corvette convertible led the rest.
A big pack in day-glo shirts promoted the safety message "Look Twice."
There were some characters.
Some grandmothers.
But mainly just some generous and friendly folks out to ride with their buddies,
check out the other bikes, wave to the crowd, and raise money for a good cause.
The local bikers here raise lots of money every year for the school for disabled youngsters where I used to work, so I'm not at all surprised to see this magnificent turn-out.

ReplyDeleteWow, that's quite a sight. We have bikers who do the same thing for charitable causes over here. They always seem a cheerful lot.

ReplyDeleteA great turnout for a good cause. But it would sure be nice to see more of those people wearing helmets. But perhaps their sense of charity extends to organ donorship.
