Tommy's Tattoo Convention is taking place this weekend at the Connecticut Convention Center.
I went by on Friday afternoon, before the convention began. Sarah and Mikey were hanging out.
Sarah has numerous tattoos, some reflecting her Buddhism and others based on Goth-style
movies that she likes. Mikey has a fascinating left arm illusion tattoo,
with skulls that morph into human figures.
Sarah, Emily and Mike are tattoo artists from Philadelphia. Their tattoos don't have any specific meanings. They just liked the art and thought the tattoos were cool.
Cory is a tattoo artist from Groton, Connecticut. He was fine with being photographed,
but he is a man of few words and didn't want to talk about his tats.
Way to go. Jack you and your camera have a real knack of getting people to pose for you.
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I abhor them but both of our children did it. I can imagine what my parents thought of my long hair in the late 60s. But it was easy to cut that.

ReplyDeleteThe young people I see today have at least one tattoo. I can't image having an arm full of them. I can't stand needles so that deters me. :)
ReplyDeleteI love John's comment! So many of the tats have no aesthetic value at all and I sure wouldn't want an ugly thing on my body forever!

ReplyDeleteI'm not crazy about tats. A small one can look cute, like jewelry. But the circus tattooed-lady look is disconcerting.
