Old Drake Hill Flower Bridge


Another visit to Simsbury's Bridge of Flowers.


Originally designed and built in 1892, the bridge spans 183 feet and carries a 12-foot roadway 18 feet above age Farmington River.  It was replaced by a modern bridge to the north in 1992.


This year's plantings alternate boxes with "warm" colors and boxes in "cool" colors.

  2. I love the look of old bridges. We have a number around here that have been put on bike paths and trails. Always good to see them put to good use.
