  2. There are people in our city that have a schedule for trash days in various neighbourhoods and spend lots of time checking the curbs for usable items. Perhaps the tryke qualifies in your photo (unless a rear wheel is missing) but I doubt anyone would pick up the other items. I have had wonderful luck with my labeled "Free items"--they're usually gone within a short period of time.

  3. Smart idea from you Kate, I have things I donate to charity, the worst goes straight to the bin.
Yes, luckily there are some people out there who could perhaps fix the chair etc.

Just like Andy.... I am thinking too about all the things most of us don´t know what to do, fix it, sell it or donate it or just dump it in the bin?

    Interesting posting, like documentary....

  5. Our town also has an annual pickup day every spring. Much of what gets put our is picked up by people who want the have other people's trash. I would looks carefully at that chair. The seat can be fixed.

  6. I bought new freezer and fridge a while back. To get rid of the old ones I inform the garbage disposal company that they need to pick them up next time and that is it. No extra charge.

  7. I can't think of anyone who would want a used toilet!

  8. We've left a variety of non-junk items on the road in front of our house with a "free" sign on them. All have found happy takers but none of it has been icky or trashy.
