Son John is Very Sick

John is 30 years old.  For the last two decades he has lived with Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetes.  Four weeks ago John's blood sugars went low and he fell into a coma.  A friend found him.

John has been in the hospital ever since, with two long stays in the intensive care unit.  The poor guy has had issues with his heart, lungs, kidneys and most other life systems, and now he is
coping with a serious allergic reaction to some of the medications he was given.

I have kept this blog going as my way of pretending that life is normal.  But, it isn't.
The blog will be on hiatus until John's situation is resolved and my mood lifts.

  3. Thank you for sharing with us. You have contributed so much to the City Daily Photo community. Contributing can be therapeutic. But, you are right, there comes a time when it becomes an added stress and starts to overwhelm. Please stop back once in a while to give up updates... if you can.

You and your son are in my thoughts.

  4. Jack, words are insufficient during trying times such as these. It is my wish that the current situation unfolds in a positive way to help heal your son's body. It is difficult for you and I hold you and your family in my heart, hope for a good outcome, and send kind and loving thoughts aloft to a higher power.

  14. I understand completely as I am dealing with health issues with my partner of 16 years which was part of my response months back which prompted you to unfriend me on FB. We never know what people are going through beneath the veil of normalcy. I send only positive thoughts and empathy to you and your son in his current health struggle.

  34. Life is not fair. No child should suffer like John did and no parent should have to go through what you did. I cannot express in words the empathy I feel for you all. All I can do to hope that it is true that good thoughts reach and touch you and help you all go through this tremendous loss.
My thoughts and love to all of you,
    Merisi
