It pains me to describe the cars of my youth as "antiques,"
but it was an antique car show and there they were.
My mother had a two-tone blue and white 1955 Ford Fairlane like this one. First car I ever drove.
Wish I had the concession for car shirts at this show.

Beautiful old cars - some pretty colours too, I don't think I ever saw a pastel pink car here. Yes, it is a bit depressing when the first car you drove is now vintage! It happened to me too.
ReplyDeleteThese are the cars I lusted after in my teenage years, but never got to have. Still like the looks of the old Thunderbirds, but when all is said and done, these were never very good cars. They did not handle well, had inadequate brakes, and with exceptions, they were never very fast. They were about cruising, and general transportation. Now they are about looking classy.
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful cars, Jack, and in such a good setting.
ReplyDeleteThat tailgate picnic is fantastic but, I'd love to drive away in one of those T-birds.
ReplyDeleteSweet memories, Jack! My mum had a '56 Pontiac 2 tone blue which was the first car I drove - I loved that car!
ReplyDeleteThese cars are great and well captured. It is hard to believe that some of the cars we remember in our younger days are now considered antiques. I guess cars don't age as well as we do! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is a groovy shirt. And some great cars.
ReplyDeleteThose T-birds remind me of one of my sadder missed shots. I heard cars outside in front of my house and opened the door to find a convoy (mudder? pack? swarm?) of classic T-birds driving by. And no camera at hand. Another "Oh dang!" moment.
