Heiko Weiner is a German-born wood turner who now lives in Texas. He creates outstanding bowls, vases and other vessels. Heiko often uses forms and patterns found in Native American art forms
and he sometimes embellishes his works with turquoise and silver.
Timothy Sullivan is from Georgia. He creates beautiful ceramic forms based on classic shapes,
decorated with his own patterns and glazes.
At outdoor art festivals like the recent Naples National Art Festival, there are always many fine art photographers. Neil R. Brown's black and white photographs from
around the globe were some of the more interesting ones.
nice work and looks like a perfect day for the event...i always worry about the artist's displays when the weather takes a turn!
ReplyDeleteOh my, the trouble I could get into at an event like this. That wood turner has some fabulous work. It reminds me of a guy who is at the Celebration of Fine Arts. He does a lot of bowls in sort of semi-natural shapes embedded with veins of turquoise. They are gorgeous just like this one he's holding in your picture.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good show, Jack! I remember going to a really good art show in Naples in a park probably in early February many years ago and there were a lot of northern artists escaping winter and making money at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThree excellent displays, I'd be happy with pieces from any of them. But what did the lady in the yellow t-shirt do wrong, to be ordered off the premises like that?
ReplyDeleteThere is some serious talent in these photographs.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time at the Fine Arts Festival. Some of that work would be hard to resist. Your portraits are once again top notch.
ReplyDeleteSome very nice work here. Is there ever a time when there isn't a street festival of some kind in Naples?
