Vietnam Memorial Wall

A half-scale Vietnam Memorial Wall was dedicated in Punta Gorda in November 2016.

The black granite wall has the names of all 58,000 men and women
who lost their lives in that controversial war.

(And the answers to many questions yesterday, no, I didn't buy a boat.
I just went there to take photographs.  Sick?  Yes, I agree.)

  5. I've been to the one in Washington a couple of times. It is indescribably moving but too busy to photograph well, unless you arrive at dawn. Which might be a good idea. This one, even in the lushness of Florida, has a sense of isolation.

  8. It's bad enough that there are 58,000 dead. It doesn't include the others who came back permanently scarred in one way or another.
