Planting Tulip Bulbs

I thought I was finished with the Elizabeth Park photographs for this season.  But, then I saw Bob Prill and another volunteer planting tulip bulbs in one of the annual beds.  Bob has been planting the annual garden for many years.  He has announced that this is his last year.  He will be missed.

  1. That is quite a job. I always enjoy your photos of this park. Hopefully they will find a replacement with his sense of pride and work ethic.

  3. Maybe Bob will be like Edna who volunteered at the school where I work for over 25 years. She announced her retirement many times but always came back after a few months - I don't know how many leaving presents we bought her!

  5. I think the planting of the bulbs up here have already been done. They have removed the summer flowers starting in mid October.

  6. That's nice to have volunteers like Bob. You're right he will be missed but it opens the door for someone else to fill his shoes.

  9. You really have to be organized to be an effective gardener. I always forget when to plant bulbs.

  11. Bob has a big palette to work with at Elizabeth Park. I hope they find others equally committed. Planting bulbs is such a hopeful and satisfying task.
