Out of the Jurisdiction: Faces in the Crowd in Gdansk

About 20 Dutch men sang their hearts out on the patio of a bar.

This very interesting looking woman modeled some of the amber necklaces she sells.

The body of an 18-year old girl killed in a 1949 demonstration against the Communists was found two years ago.  A church service honored her.  Afterwards, thousands marched through
the streets in a flag-waving demonstration against the old regime.

Children played with big bubbles.  This baby wanted to join the fun.

A photographer posed them.  I don't know if they are a couple or models.

A sidewalk artist painted a temporary tattoo on the young man's shaved dome.

  1. Thankfully the tattoo is temporary :)
Great shots Jack, always nice to see the activity and life happening in your images.

  2. A very nice and interesting posting.
(Gdansk has a direct flight from Stavanger. One day I hope to see and explore more of Poland.)

  3. A fine selection of faces and characters. Rather different, one suspects, from what one might have found in the city of Gdansk just a few decades ago.

  6. Back on Aug 23rd you said that Norway has the finest manhole covers in the World, bar none. While your example is fine, I found the manholes of Seattle, WA right up there. Check out my post for today to see one. As always, I have greatly enjoyed your travel photos.
