I agree, Jack. I love these little free libraries. Did you know that they got their start in Hudson, WI, which is just across the border from Minnesota? The first was a way for a man to memorialise his Mother and then the idea took off. I keep a box of books in my car and drop a few here and there as I drive by. I hate to give them up, but storage is always a problem with books. My house if full of them. I want a free library for my yard but no-one in this family is willing (or capable) of putting one up for me!
These little free libraries are a great way for all us readers to share our books. Have a friend in Iowa who maintains one, and I have thought about it, but first I must build a box.You found a colorful one.
This is a real eye-catcher. Our local library has sales of donated books. The prices are so good (the blowout sales are $1 for a grocery bag full) that I think our little free libraries come in a poor second.
