I like the color! Especially the pretty blue in the sky!
I do like both versions.
An interesting exercise; both have their merits, I feel.
Both are great photographs. I always feel that b/w highlights the detail in a photo.
And you may have added something by doing so. They are two different esthetic approaches. Each has its merits.
Looks good either way.
