Monarch

Others have shown the first butterfly of spring.  In Florida, we have butterflies all winter long.
This monarch was bobbing around on a bush when I took a walk yesterday afternoon.

  2. When I was a kid we called them King Billy. I have been told it was just a Canadian thing.

  4. Oh la! It's gorgeous Jack! I don't think I have ever seen a Monarch, although that might be because I haven't been looking carefully enough :)

  9. Jack, there will be no butterflies around here for a couple months yet. So, I'm delighted to see this Monarch. In the fall we sometimes see congregations of thousands of them.

Thank you for continuing to visit my blog while it was on autopilot. I was traveling away from the Internet for the past few weeks. Went to Cuba a week before President Obama, and got home this morning.
