Let's take a break from the galleries to see some of the interesting aspects of the museum.
There is a three-story blue glass Dale Chihuly installation in the stairwell.
And an appealing seating area in the space between the philharmonic hall and the museum.
And a corridor with a bright assemblage of Chihuly glass in the ceiling.
And, if you are lucky, you will be there on a day when the endlessly fascinating Thea is on duty.
I just hope that glass never falls down!

ReplyDeleteThat portrait is a stunner. Superb. Reminds me of Richard Avedon's photos of every sort of person against a plain white backdrop, although his were B&W.
ReplyDeleteThe blue Chiluly is similar to the one in the atrium entrance of the Missouri Botanical Garden. We know an artist whose view of Chihuly consists of two words: too easy. He may be right.
I love how the Chihuly looks in your second shot. And that ceiling looks very familiar. I've seen two of these here in Washington state.
