Gaetano and I struck up a conversation when I noticed his JDRF tee shirt. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation does important work seeking a cure for Type 1 diabetes,
an illness that afflicts my son.
Gaetano was born near the foot of Montecassino in Italy, scene of one of the most brutal battles in World War II. As a child his family moved to Windsor, Ontario, across the border from Detroit.
These days Gaetano lives part of the year in Naples and part of the year in Canada.
This is a really nice portrait shot Jack, I like Gaetano is happy to look directly into the camera, he looks relaxed. Wish I could be like that when a camera is pointed in my direction :)
ReplyDeleteA very good portrait shot. Quite a life lived, too.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Grace from Perth!! A great portrait shot it is indeed and a wonderful smile!! Hope you have a great day, Jack and a great weekend to come!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteGaetano sounds like an interesting man. I bet he has some stories.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a nice man, Jack! That is an excellent charity to support!
ReplyDeleteHe has really nice and friendly face.
ReplyDeleteYep. I think I agree with everything said to this point. I'm also reminded of the phrase "God only made a few perfect heads. The rest he covered with hair."
