Naples UCC

Naples has some big churches of all denominations.  I might start a series of churches on Sundays.

Naples United Church of Christ is on Seagate Drive.  It looks like a New England protestant church (if you ignore the palm trees) and its congregation includes many New England snowbirds.

Beyond its religious services, Naples UCC funds a variety of missions, including
Baby Basics (diapers, food, clothing, etc.), Precious Cargo Academy (onsite pre-school),
Meals of Hope (providing 150,000 meals) and a Guatemala Medical Clinic.
It has funded just short of $1 million of mission service in the past five years.

  1. I like the big Episcopal church not too far from Venetian Village.

The news this morning did not sound good so far as Naples is concerned. Hope that you were safe and suffered no damage.

I hope you are alright - the Fla storms were on our news today too.

  4. Heard you got some wind. Hope you avoided any damage. Yes, this church looks like a classic New England one. It has great balance. Your excellent photo doesn't hurt it either.

  5. Daring architecture - neoclassic, New England-y and dumped with tropical white wash. And good for the congregation. I like social activism.

  6. New England with palm trees. Interesting juxtaposition.
Sounds like a church that likes to get things done. Sounds good to me.
