John

This fine beard belongs to John, whom I met while he was working on a demolition crew in Bonita Springs.  John proudly informed me he was born in Bonita 57 years ago.  He has never lived anywhere else.  Same as his older brother and younger sister.

Bonita Springs is a bit schizophrenic.  It can't decide if it is (or wants to be) a winter playground for wealthy folks fleeing northern winters, or Old Florida, where people like John live their lifetimes.

  4. That's a wiry old beard for sure :) I know a few people who have never lived anywhere other than where they were born.. I can't imagine it!

  5. Living where one is born insures setting down roots, but adding worldwide travel to the occasion would make it complete. VERY interesting looking man.

  9. Looks like the beard has been growing for 57 years too. Not often you see one as full as that. He looks a very likely candidate to play Father Christmas!

  10. I find it interesting that some people have ALWAYS lived in one place. I guess he and his family are pretty happy there so why move?

  12. Well, they say Bach never traveled more than 50 miles from the place of his birth. There's a big world out there with lots of experiences to be had, but they don't necessarily make you happier.

  13. Ahhh, gentrification. Move in some big bucks, buy up blocks of properties, and there goes the neighborhood...at least for people who can't keep up with the Joneses.
